Five Steps to Buy an Xbox Consoles

By JJ Hendricks

Xbox

Xbox

The Xbox is the predecessor to the new Xbox 360 consoles and it was quite successful. It has a large game selection and brought some new features to gaming like a built in hard drive and online play. Now that Microsoft has moved onto the 360 it can be hard to find the original Xbox anymore.

1. Consoles Cost $90 or Less:
The original Xbox stopped selling in the USA for a price of $149.99, but you can find it quite a bit cheaper now. Many stores will sell used Xbox consoles for less than $90. Be sure to shop around because prices can vary a lot between stores.

2. Buy Used:
Microsoft stopped making the original Xbox in 2005 and most stores don’t carry new consoles anymore. You can still find new Xbox consoles if you really want one, but you will definitely pay a premium. Thankfully, Microsoft built the Xbox well, so used consoles are still in good shape. The original Xbox isn’t like the Xbox 360’s that have had technical problems and recalls.

3. Don’t Shop in Retail Stores:
You will most likely be wasting your time. All major retailers and most used video game stores have stopped selling Xbox consoles and games. Smaller, independent video game stores near you might still carry Xbox consoles though. Gamestop and EBGames only sell Xbox games now, no more consoles.

4. Shop Online:
The best place to find  Xbox consoles and games is in online stores or ebay. You can use comparison shopping engines or google to find quite a few Xbox’s available. And like everything else in the world, you can find Xbox systems on Ebay too. Be careful when shopping online to make sure you don’t over pay for shipping though, especially on Ebay. Lots of retailers advertise a low sales price for the console, but then charge a lot for shipping.

5. Watch What is Included:
The Xbox originally came with one controller, an AV Cords, and an AC Adapter.
BONUS Tip:
Xbox consoles are almost worthless without some games, so try to buy from a store that carries a wide selection of games too. There is no sense in spending more time finding the games somewhere else when you can buy them all in one location. Go buy an Xbox console and start enjoying some of the great games the system has to offer.

Learning How to Repair Xbox Systems on Your Own

By Sandra Maria Stammberger

Xbox 360 System

Xbox 360 System

It seems that many people are out there trying to figure out if they can tackle their problem with their Xbox systems. To know how to repair xbox systems is important though because you do not want to simply open the system up and start moving things around in there. Unless you are highly proficient in the repair of game systems then you should probably not attempt this alone. If you are even contemplating learning how to repair xbox systems then you are obviously dealing with some sort of issue with the game system not functioning the way it should be. While some people have nothing to worry about because their system is still covered under the warranty, not everyone is that lucky.

A guide or detailed instruction on how to repair xbox systems is important if you are one of the unlucky few that this problem waited to start happening after the warranty expired. You will have saved yourself hundreds of dollars and you will know how to repair xbox systems if you ever experience another problem. Also, you can help your friends and family if they start to experience troubles with the red light on their game system.

The Xbox 360 has been plagued with a number of problems, some of which essentially render the console unusable. This is often the case in regard to what is known as “the 3 red lights of doom” - essentially a total system failure. The consensus is that the affected Xbox systems were rushed into production and this caused several design or production flaws - some critical. Most Xbox 360s with this problem have to be sent in for repair if the fix is not something for the DIY user. In the case of Xbox units which ran out of warranty repair gets costly. Warranted units are free to repair, but because of the large number of faulty Xbox 360s the waiting time is often stretching over more than 6 weeks.

Many find their answers in game forums. There is no straight path from identifying the problem to finding a solution to it. Overheating is repairable: a new cooling system is exactly what the doctor ordered. Motherboard issues need the touch of a hardware expert. Online sellers offer affordable repair kits that work great in the hands of a tech savvy Xbox user who can thus fix his console without spending a fortune and waiting in a long queue.

Critical motherboard flaws need system replacements. These are often so expensive that investing in new systems almost coincides with the price of a new Xbox systems. Victims of such technical issues have no other choice but to try a DIY solution. In conclusion, fixing a faulty Xbox 360 can be easy for everyone in special situations but when the malfunction requires complicated repairs and system replacement, it’s best to leave the job to the experts or to buy a new Xbox. Choose whatever you feel comfortable with and saves you time, money and energy.

By Paul W Wilson

The Xbox console 360 is a video game console that is visionary. A gamers’ dream machine, the Xbox console 360 is sold in two versions a premium edition that has a hard drive, a wireless controller, headset, Ethernet cable, a HD AV cable, and an Xbox live silver subscription and a core system.

Powerful and futuristic the Xbox console 360 includes HD gaming, perfect sound, and sensational graphics. The system offers high-end gaming with several exciting possibilities. It revolutionizes video game consoles and is, in actuality, a computer dedicated to gaming. It is not just a gaming machine it is a media center that allows you to play games, network with other gamers around 360 of them, rip, stream, and download high definition movies, music, digital pictures, games, music, and play DVDs and CDs. The Xbox360 has around 18 titles in the US including games like Call of Duty 2, Dead or Alive 4, Every Party, FIFA 06, NBA live, Kameo, Perfect Dark Zero, and Project Gotham Racing 3. All games support a six channel Dolby Digital Sound with no voice echo.

Apart from video and DVD playing the Xbox 360 live market place allows the user to connect to Xbox live even if offline. Users can view messages and game invites sent by other Xbox live members. The live market place allows download of avatars, trailers, as well as game demos.

With the Xbox console 360 a person can view a complete record of games played, play games downloaded from marketplace, play game demos, watch movie as well as game trailers, listen to music customized for the user, view pictures as well as videos stored on a camera or any other portable device, and activate the media center extender.

The Xbox console 360 has backward compatibility and so, users can play games originally developed for the earlier versions of the box. Game demos and trailers are offered free but full versions of games have to be purchased using Xbox Live Marketplace using Microsoft points which can be bought through Live or via game cards sold retail.

Often the Xbox displays red lights instead of a green ring of light to indicate errors.

Although Microsoft’s Xbox was able to sell millions and millions of units worldwide, it was still considerably outsold by its competitor, Sony’s PlayStation. In this day, wherein another revolution in video and gaming technology is at hand, the Xbox360 is more promising than ever.

What difference does the Xbox console 360 hold against its predecessor? Well, just like all gaming consoles, it is basically a computer that is designed to run video game programs. As was mentioned earlier, the Xbox console 360 is a computer designed for playing video games. Now, since we know that all gaming consoles are simply computers designed for playing video games, let us take a look at the heart of all computers – the CPU. Just the same, video game consoles have a processor that would, of course, ‘process’ all the information being fed into the system. The latest innovation in the Xbox console 360 is that, they “modified the engine” to be able to deliver optimum performance for players.
